Eridan introduces a breakthrough approach to 5G radio design, enabling smaller, more power-efficient systems that deliver enhanced performance.

A New Opportunity

Working closely with engineering and marketing, I developed a distinct design language for Eridan’s next generation radio, crafted to stand apart in a crowded market while expressing the precision and premium nature of the technology it represents.

Guided by a directive from the C-suite to establish a premium product identity, the design process began within strict constraints. A defined rectangular form and specified white finish. Rather than limiting the outcome, these constraints became a framework for innovation. I explored how controlled surface variation, rhythm, and detailing could introduce dynamism and distinction. Wave and rib patterns emerged as a key direction, serving both as a visual expression of radio transmission and as functional elements that enhance thermal performance.

Grounded in the client’s vision, the process began with quick hand sketches to freely explore form, proportion, and detail without constraint. Selected concepts were then carried into digital sketching, where they could be refined with greater precision and developed into more cohesive design directions

Effective design is built through collaboration. Throughout the process, I worked closely with engineering and marketing teams, sharing ideas, presenting concepts, and iterating based on continuous feedback.


I believe it is my responsibility to explore multiple design directions while maintaining a clear understanding of stakeholder goals. By actively listening and integrating feedback, I ensure that each design decision supports both user needs and broader business objectives.

With key directions established, the design moved into higher-fidelity development through CAD modeling in SolidWorks and rendering in KeyShot.

This stage was critical in refining form, proportions, and surface details, as well as validating the design through 3D-printed mockups that provided tangible feedback beyond the digital environment.

Countless Mockups

Through each round of refinement, I produced full-scale (1:1) mockups to better evaluate form, usability, and overall feel. Even small changes in geometry can significantly impact how a product is perceived and handled in a physical context. This was especially important given that the radio is installed by technicians at height, where ease of handling and confidence in use are critical.

Removing side heat fins allows the radio to be easily gripped from any orientation, improving safety and handling during installation.

A key goal was to create a smooth, seamless form that elevates the radio beyond an industrial look. The result is a premium, sophisticated aesthetic that feels modern and high-end.
